We are a comprehensive business partner in the field of intellectual property rights. Many companies have a marked awareness of the usefulness of IP as a means to defend market share and Valeas perception is that the demand for IP services continues to grow. We are pleased that authorities have begun to review how the systems can be streamlined, i.e. the introduction of the London Agreement and we welcome any initiatives which will result in more efficient handling of clients’ applications, provided that quality is not compromised.
The recession has accelerated the restructuring of the industry, which we predicted and Valea has the intention to seize the opportunities this offers. We have recognized that it is not necessarily the bigger who conquer the smaller, but rather the faster who defeat the slower.

U.S. Patent Attorney joins Valea
The U.S. patent system is significantly different from the European system, both in terms of prosecuting a patent application and enforcing a patent. Furthermore, Swedish companies file more patent applications in the United States than any other country. A sound understanding of the U.S. system is thus a prerequisite for efficient management of our clients’ IP portfolios.
We are therefore proud to announce that Sarah Rodriguez, U.S. patent attorney, has joined our Gothenburg office.
